SUMMARY:Ice Wine Trail
DESCRIPTION:Ice Wine Trail\nThe cold of Northeast Ohio brings out the sweet nectar frozen on the vines in snow laden vineyards located south of Lake Erie.  This creates a microclimate that allows Ohio winemakers to grow grapes and make exceptional ice wines. \nIce Wine harvest is typically done in the early morning hours when temperatures dip well below freezing.  The natural water content that is found in the grapes needs to be frozen when harvested.  This results in a concentrated thick extraction of juice which in turn is used for Ice Wine.  Typically\, the brix level is between 37-40 brix which is ideal for producing this decadent dessert wine. \nIce Wine varietals in the Grand River Valley region include Vidal Blanc\, Concord\, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay. Each varietal has its own set of unique characteristics that are sure to be palate pleasing. Flavors of sweet peach\, apricot\, honey\, cherry\, and citrus can be found in these delicious Ice Wines.  Pair any of these dessert wines with pungent cheeses like gorgonzola and goat cheese or go sweet and enjoy with chocolate hazelnut spread or white chocolates. The possibilities are endless! \nThe winegrowers of the Grand River Valley encourage you to come sample the finest Ice Wines in the valley! \n \n11-5 ON SATURDAYS!\nDEBONNE VINEYARDS \nAPPETIZER: Apricot-Pistachio Cracker Toasts w/Whipped Cream Cheese & Hot Honey\nFEATURED WINES: Vidal Blanc Ice Wine & Cherry Bourbon Ice Wine\nWHILE YOU ARE THERE… Live music Friday night and Saturday & Sunday afternoons \n\nPolar Vortex Ice Wine Cocktail\nIce Wine Progressive Dinner-Fridays\, April 9th\, 16th\, 23rd.  Reservations required in advance.  See website\nSunday\, April 18th-Ice Wine Sangria & Cocktail-go to www.debonne.com to register.\nPeach Ice Wine Jam by Pepper-licious available in our gift shop.\nHours for the Trail:  Sunday thru Friday Noon-5; Saturday 11-5; Closed Easter Sunday.\n\nFERRANTE WINERY & RISTORANTE \nAPPETIZER:  Peach\, Apricot\, Ricotta Pursette\nFEATURED WINE: Vidal Blanc Ice Wine & Mom’s Apple Pie Riesling\nWHILE YOU ARE THERE… \n\nLive music Friday & Saturday evenings.\nPop-a-Razzi Gourmet Vidal Blanc Ice Wine Popcorn (Ashtabula Harbor) available in our gift shop.\nVidal Blanc Ice Wine Coffee by Scribblers (Geneva) available in our gift shop.\nIce Wine Bottle Photo Prop\nIce Wine Pairing Menu for Lunch and Dinner offered on Weekends.   No Reservations Necessary.\nVisit https://www.ferrantewinery.com/ for our menu & additional information.\nHours for the Trail:  Sunday thru Friday Noon-5; Saturday 11-5; Closed Easter Sunday.\n\nGRAND RIVER CELLARS WINERY & RESTAURANT \nAPPETIZER: Asian Bourbon Meatballs with Sesame Seeds topped with White Balsamic Pickled Cucumbers\nFEATURED WINE: Vidal Blanc Ice Wine & Maple Ice Wine\nWHILE YOU ARE THERE… \n\nIce Wine Marshmallow Roast All Day\nIce Wine Martini’s & Specialty Cocktails\nIce Wine Rock Candy available in our gift shop\nIce Wine Progressive Dinner-Fridays\, April 9th\, 16th\, 23rd.  Reservations required in advance.  Go to www.grandrivercellars.com to make your reservations.\nLive music Thursday\, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.\nDelightful Soy Candles featuring Ice Wine Candles available in our gift shop\nPolar Bear Selfie Station\nHours for the Trail: Sunday thru Friday Noon-5; Saturday 11-5; Closed Easter Sunday.\n\nLAURELLO VINEYARDS \nAPPETIZER:  A Creamy Cheese with Savory Bacon & Sweet Dried Figs\nFEATURED WINES: 2019 Vidal Blanc Ice Wine & Simply Mad Habanero Ice Wine\nWHILE YOU ARE THERE… \n\nIce Wine Harvest Video\nIce Wine Selfie Station\nLive music each Saturday from 6-9 pm\nHours for the Trail:  Wednesday thru Friday & Sunday Noon-5; Saturday 11-5; Closed Good Friday & Easter Sunday\n\nCASK 307 \nAPPETIZER: Pistachio Gelato Crunch Sundae\nFEATURED WINE: 2019 Chardonnay Ice Wine\nWHILE YOU ARE THERE… \n\nIce Wine Progressive Dinner-Fridays\, April 9th\, 16th\, 23rd.
